2007–08 Arsenal F.C. season

9 December: Arsenal suffer their first defeat of the season, losing 2–1 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside^[11]
17 January: Lassana Diarra joins Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee after just six months at the Emirates^[12]
22 January: Arsenal are knocked out of the Carling Cup, losing 6–2 on aggregate to North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur^[13]
16 February: Arsenal are knocked out of the FA Cup, losing 4–0 to rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford^[14]
24 February: Arsenal striker Eduardo suffers a double compound fracture to his leg in the 2-2 draw at Birmingham City. Experts suggest he may take more than a year to fully recover^[15]
4 March: Arsenal progress to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, beating reigning champions AC Milan 2-0. Arsenal become the first English team ever to beat AC Milan at the San Siro^[16]
29 March: 10 man Arsenal come from 2-0 at half time to beat Bolton Wanderers 3-2 at the Reebok Stadium^[17]
5 April: Arsenal's hopes of winning the Premier League are all but wiped out after they can only manage a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, leaving them 5 points behind leaders Manchester United, who also have a game in hand^[18]
8 April: Arsenal are knocked out of the Champions League after losing to Liverpool 5-3 on aggregate^[19]
5 May: Mathieu Flamini agrees a four year contract with Italian club AC Milan, meaning he will leave Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season^[20]
